Detectives estimated that the pet, which was shot dead by a police marksman after the attack, weighed up to 63kg (10st).
I can’t imagine any British copper going, “Yeah, I reckon he weighed about 63 kilos.”
It’s not just because it’s metric: it’s just too damn precise.
More likely that he guessed the weight of the latest killer dog at 10st, which the Guardian has converted into kilograms for the benefit of, er, nobody, and then back again.
