Punter with a conscience

As well as the many and varied objections to plans to criminalise the purchase of sex, I’ve just remembered something.
There was a case a couple of years ago where Cardiff’s two notorious brothels were found to have been employing an illegally trafficked Lithuanian woman. I vaguely remember reading at the time that the police (who aren’t allowed to investigate brothels of their own accord) had had a tip-off — from a punter who had got chatting to this woman and realised she was effectively a sex slave.
Vastly less likely for that kind of thing to happen if he faced prosecution.
