Watching Doctor Who last night reminded me of a bit in last week’s episode in which Martha, temporarily living in 1913, was told that it was ridiculous for a woman to study to be a (medical) doctor, and “particularly one of [her] colour”.

This morning I’ve removed restrictions on gun ownership, lowered the legal age to buy alcohol, deregulated gambling, legalised drugs and prostitution, reversed the budget defecit, been elected to a historic five terms in office with the fourth term seeing me receive 88.5% of the popular vote… and then got blown to bits by religious extremists.
