Is Cardiff Uni some sort of Higher Education “special school”?

These are actual, genuine contents of emails sent by University staff to, respectively, my diploma class (average age ~23-24) and a group of psychology PhD students:
** High Priority **
Can you all make sure your names are on your submissions please.
And
Once you are in your new offices please note that when crossing Park Place you should use the pedestrian crossings provided.

Bloody brilliant. When I got that email today I thought I must be missing something - submit a piece of work with your name on it? Surely not? - While anonymous marking might be the staple of under-graduate after a year of a course on which we have put our name on everything it seems ludicrous - have to say the PhD one is even better.
P.S. - Do I feel honoured or victimised to be the only person on your blogroll with an extra name in quote marks? Can’t decide.

Both honoured and victimised, Dan. Think of it as a semi-ironic hat-tip of recognition. Perhaps. Maybe that’s just bollocks.

I can only imagine she wrote that because each year there’s a couple of idiots who do forget to put their own names on.
