One of the only rules of the “blogosphere” is that we have a sort of obligation to carry on what are effectively chain letters but without the pseudo-supernatural threats of “bad luck” and bogeymen.I’ve been passed a meme from the mighty Yellow Duck. I have to name 10 things I would never do, and then pass it on to ten bloggo-chums. This is a bit tricky for me - I’m not normally one to say “never”.
But here’s my list.
I would never:
- Disobey the laws of the “blogosphere”, even the ones I find to be a nuisance.
- Write the word “blogosphere” without using quotation marks, and cringeing.
- Vote tory
- Vote labour
- Avoid making a joke even though I know it’s going to get me into trouble. (This isn’t necessarily a conscious thing.)
- Go veggie. Was going to for a week once. Just couldn’t be bothered. I’ve had one vegetrarian meal in my life, and that was only because it was cooked for me.
- Buy/pay to see anything that Mel Gibson has had anything to do with, ever. I’m not helping line the pockets of that chump. (Press screenings are okay though.)
- Watch The Empire In Africa , even though I know I should. Don’t think I could take it.
- Swear allegiance to, accept honours from or in any other way recognise the position of Mrs Windsor.
- Write a list like this without reserving the right to change my mind at any time. (That’s what it’s for.)
And I would like to pass this on to: Matthew, Andy, John, Charissa, Willy, Cat, Dan, Ewen, Harry, James and Jon. As if they haven’t all got enough to do.
